Driver System
The HW600 employs a large-format 110x86mm planar magnetic driver with an ultra-thin 8-micron polymer diaphragm. Fourteen neodymium magnets — seven per side in a dual-sided array — generate a powerful 1.8T magnetic flux density, driving the diaphragm with uniform force across its entire surface. This symmetrical push-pull configuration reduces harmonic distortion and improves transient response, yielding a frequency range of 12Hz to 40kHz that captures sub-bass texture and treble air without breakup.
Electrical Characteristics
With an impedance of 30 ohms and sensitivity rated at 104dB (+/-3dB), the HW600 is relatively easy to drive compared to many planar designs, though it scales well with dedicated amplification. The low impedance and moderate sensitivity make it compatible with a wide range of sources, from portable DAC/amps to desktop headphone amplifiers.
Materials and Construction
The earcup housings are machined from aerospace-grade 7xxx series aluminum alloy, delivering structural rigidity with minimal weight. Ear pads are crafted from genuine lambskin leather over high-density memory foam, providing a comfortable seal that also contributes to acoustic isolation and bass response. A three-axis swivel mechanism in each earcup allows the driver to conform precisely to the listener’s head geometry, distributing clamping force evenly and reducing fatigue during extended sessions. Total weight comes in at 480g without cable.
