Triangle Speakers

French-Made Acoustic Artistry

A great speaker should make you want to keep listening. It should bring energy to your music, preserve the character of the performance, and help you feel connected to what you're hearing.

Founded in France in 1980, Triangle has spent over four decades refining a sound that feels fast, expressive, and engaging. The brand's approach puts musical energy, natural tone, and a strong sense of realism at the heart of the listening experience.

Triangle's French roots remain an important part of its identity, with careful attention given to speaker design, acoustic performance, and craftsmanship. At Audio Art Cable, we offer the Triangle Magellan Duetto 40th Speaker for listeners looking to bring this distinctive approach to a dedicated high-fidelity system.

A Legacy of French Acoustic Design

Triangle started with a clear goal: build speakers that respect both design and sound.

In the early 1980s, founder Renaud de Vergnettes began developing loudspeakers in a small Paris workshop. Even then, the direction was clear,  fast drivers, natural tone, and a focus on musical flow instead of technical showmanship.

That approach hasn’t changed. From those early designs to today’s globally recognized systems, Triangle has stayed consistent. The focus is still on making music feel alive.

Decades of Innovation

• 2000s: Engineering Maturity

• 2010s to Today: Modern HiFi Evolution
Triangle expanded into modern systems and streaming, while staying true to its core sound: dynamic, open, and engaging.

Triangle Magellan Duetto 40th Anniversary

Triangle HIFI Bookshelf Speaker Pair- Magellan- Duetto 40th brings the brand's high-end speaker design into a compact bookshelf format. Created to celebrate Triangle's 40th anniversary, this limited-edition model combines premium construction with the company's focus on dynamic, expressive sound.

Its compact size also makes it a practical choice for rooms where space is limited, while careful positioning and suitable amplification can help the speakers deliver a spacious and engaging presentation.

Signature Sound Philosophy

Triangle speakers are known for a distinctive sonic character:

• Fast transient response that brings music to life

• Clear midrange detail with natural tonal balance

• Wide, open soundstage with strong spatial depth

• Engaging presentation that avoids listening fatigue

Rather than smoothing everything out, Triangle focuses on preserving energy and realism, the feeling of a performance rather than just playback.

How to Get the Most From Your Triangle Speakers

The right setup can make a noticeable difference in how your speakers perform. Before placing your Triangle speakers, consider the size and shape of your room, your listening position, and the distance between the speakers.

Give Your Speakers Enough Space

Avoid placing bookshelf speakers directly against a wall or inside a crowded cabinet. Giving them enough breathing room can help create a more open and balanced presentation.

Aim the Speakers Toward Your Listening Position

Small adjustments to speaker angle can change the balance and focus of the sound. Start with the speakers facing forward, then experiment with a slight toe-in toward your listening position.

Match Your Amplifier Carefully

Your amplifier plays an important role in how your speakers perform. Consider the speaker's sensitivity, impedance, and the amplifier's output when building your system.

Use Stable Speaker Stands

A quality bookshelf speaker deserves a stable platform. The right stands can place the tweeters at a suitable listening height while helping keep the speakers properly positioned.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are Triangle speakers made?

Triangle is a French loudspeaker brand founded in 1980. The company is known for its French approach to speaker design and acoustic engineering. Product manufacturing and assembly details can vary between models, so check the specifications for the specific speaker you're considering.

Is the Triangle Magellan Duetto 40th a good choice for a small room?

Its bookshelf format can make it a practical option for smaller listening spaces where large floorstanding speakers may feel overwhelming. Proper placement remains important, and the best results depend on your room size, listening position, and system components.

Do I need speaker stands for the Magellan Duetto 40th?

Dedicated speaker stands are recommended for most bookshelf speaker setups. A stable stand can place the tweeters at a suitable height while giving you more control over speaker positioning and the stereo image.

What amplifier works well with Triangle speakers?

The best amplifier depends on the specific Triangle model and your listening preferences. When choosing an amplifier, consider the speaker's sensitivity, impedance, room size, and your desired listening levels. Our team can help you review amplifier compatibility for your system.

Are Triangle speakers good for two-channel audio?

Yes. Triangle has a strong focus on stereo listening, and models in the Magellan range are built for listeners who want detailed, dynamic performance from a dedicated two-channel system.

Do Triangle speakers need to be broken in?

Like many high-quality speakers, Triangle speakers may sound slightly different after some initial playing time as the drivers settle into regular use. Give your speakers time to play while you fine-tune their positioning and become familiar with their sound.

Can I add a subwoofer to Triangle bookshelf speakers?

Yes. A properly matched subwoofer can add deeper bass and greater scale to a bookshelf speaker system. The right choice depends on your room, listening preferences, and how you want to balance low-frequency extension with the natural character of the speakers.

Ready to Experience Triangle?

Choosing the right speakers involves more than finding a model you like. The room they will play in, the amplifier driving them, available space, and the type of listening you enjoy can all shape how the speaker performs in your system.

You may still be wondering how a Triangle speaker will pair with your amplifier, how much space you need, or how to position it for the best listening experience. Our team can help you work through those details and make sure the speaker fits your equipment, room, and long-term listening goals.
